He Brings Us Up and Out
Joshua 24:17 - For the LORD our God, he [it is] that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
The month of February is affectionately known as Black History Month and it serves as a reminder to those who are descendants of former slaves in America to reflect on the rich history our ancestors have given us during this time of reflection of our heritage. I submit that we’re at the 2nd month of the first year of a new decade and the Lord continues to do great things for His people. Even as I write this blog, Egyptians are encountering a tremendous amount of violence as they protest their government’s lack of respect for its citizens. There are those supporting the government who are clashing with those opposed to the path the government has taken for many years. And so at this stage, change is imminent for the current regime. Many of the Egyptians are determined that they will not continue the status quo because they feel as though their rights and liberties are being challenged.
Just as our ancestors and the Egyptians faced dire circumstances, God’s chosen people Israel faced similar circumstances. They were enslaved in Egypt and cried out to God due to the heavy hands of the Egyptians. The Bible says in Exodus 2:24 that God heard their groaning; remembered His promises to Abraham, and He began moving out on their behalf. There is a cry that God hears that prompts Him to move on behalf of His children. Their problem was Egypt’s maltreatment of them. This was a heavy lift for Israel. It was burdensome. But then God remembered His Promises. The weight of the promises began to SHIFT the problems. The weight of the promises became heavier than the weight of the problems. The pendulum began to swing and the page began to turn. And the Bible says God brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Today, somebody’s pendulum is swinging. Your page is turning. Your situation is changing. God’s resolving some things on your behalf. He’s bringing you out of some tough spots and leading you into your wealthy place. He’s remembering your sins NO MORE, though they be as scarlet, He’s making, changing them to be white as snow. In other words, He’s wiping them clean. He remembers what He promised you and He’s bringing you out with a MIGHTY hand. He is Prospering you and Preserving you. He’s bringing you UP and OUT and will Prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of the Father concerning you. This is your Season to come up and come out wherever you are!!!
Prayer: Thank you Father for bringing us up, out and INTO our wealthy place.
